DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY
Since the inception of the college in 1967, History was offered as a subject in PUC level. B.A. History course at UG level was introduced in 1971-1972 was the first degree course to be started in this college, marked an important step in the growth of this Department. To meet the demands of the people of this area, P.G. course in History was initiated in 1980. Both U.G and P.G students have produced cent percent results with University Rank Holders.
In 1997, the department entered into a new realm of Research by the introduction of M.Phil course. The department initiated the vocational course of Archaeology and Museology in 1988-1989. The department takes the pride of being the first department to adopt vocational course in this college and also to secure cent percent result throughout.
. Both were winded up in 2007 due to unavoidable administrative reasons. Department is Ph.D part time Research from the academic year 2010-2011. The department is striving to scale still higher in the field of academic excellence. The Faculty is strengthened with 10 regular members, 1 Guest Lecturers in Shift I.
