DEPARTMENT OF TAMIL
The Department of Tamil has started its service right from the inception of the College in 1967. It started offering Part I Tamil to PUC and UG Students of I and II Year. B.A. Applied Tamil is a special course at UG Level from 1994-95, the first of its kind by Bharathidasan University. Master of Arts in Tamil was started from 2005-2006 as a self financed course which has become a Government supported course from 2006-2007.
A parallel session UG Applied Tamil was Stated in Shift II from 2007-2008. The Department of Tamil was upgraded with Research Centre offering part time and full time Ph.D., Programme from 2012-2013.
It has the club of Mother Tongue Skill development with an objective to improve the spoken, written and creative skills of Tamil. The Faculty of Tamil Consists of 6 regular members, 3 Guest Lecturer in Shift I and 7 in Shift II.
